Carmel Catalano

I am a life long resident of Kenmore, New York. I attended Medaille College where I received my BS in Elementary Education. I also have a Masters of Education in reading from Canisius College. Before opening Colvin Brighton I taught school in the City of Buffalo. I taught kindergarten, sixth grade and remedial reading. In 1997 Colvin Brighton was established. My business partner and I have now been in business for a proud 16 years. I not only help run the center I am the teacher for the Pre-School for our four and five year olds. Teaching them is my greatest joy in life. Seeing my students succeed during the school year is my biggest success. When not at the center I enjoy spending time with my siblings and 35 nieces and nephews.

Christy Iraci

Better known as Chris. I opened Colvin Brighton in 1997 with my friend Carm. After receiving my teaching degree In 1993 I had come to a realization education for small children was lacking. I had decided I wanted to open my own little school. I felt with my background in education and my love for children I could make a difference in their little lives. I feel I have accomplished that. Our center is very educationally based but has that family feel as well. Colvin Brighton is truly my extended family. When not at the center I like to bowl, walk my dogs, read and spend time with family and friends.

Christina Collado

Hi, my name is Christina. Colvin Brighton has been a part of my life since it opened in 1997, on account of Miss Carm being my aunt and my mother being an employee. I started working at Colvin Brighton while in high school and continued there until I graduated from the University at Buffalo. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, and went on to become a paralegal. When I heard that Miss Carm and Miss Chris would be reopening the Colvin Brighton Woodland location, I jumped at the opportunity to come back. I missed being around children, and could not be happier to have returned. I absolutely adore the honesty of children, and I love being able to work with them each day.

Ashley Warren

Hi! My name is Ashley.  I am the lead toddler teacher at the Woodland Drive location.  I graduated from Niagara University with a BA in Early Childhood/Childhood Education with a minor in literacy.  I love spending time with children and watching them learn and develop.  It never ceases to amaze me how much information children absorb at such a young age.  Reading has always been a passion of mine and I believe books are a great way for children to learn.  I try to instill my same love of books to my students by incorporating books into my lessons as much as possible.  I love arts and crafts, so I am always looking forward to doing fun activities in my classroom.  It brightens my day to see children excited to learn something new!
